TRAVELEX JOINS FORCES WITH DEPARTMENT OF WORK AND PENSIONS’ DISABILITY CONFIDENT SCHEME

Travelex, the global foreign exchange company is pleased to announce that it has joined the Department of Work and Pensions' Disability Confident Scheme.

The scheme is designed to empower employers to recruit, develop and retain colleagues with disabilities in the workplace. The Disability Confident scheme has three levels and Travelex has joined as level 1; Disability Confident Committed.

As the UN reports that with one billion people around living with a disability today, Travelex has a valuable stewardship opportunity to impact the lives of our colleagues and customers through providing accessible and inclusive workplaces and services.

To be recognised as Disability Confident Committed, organisations have to agree to meet the requirements outlined by the UK government. The commitments are:

  • Inclusive and accessible recruitment
  • Communicating vacancies externally
  • Offering a guaranteed interview to people with disabilities that meet the essential criteria for our roles
  • Providing reasonable adjustments
  • Supporting existing employees
