GBP will buy more cinnamon buns this May bank holiday
23 Apr 2015
Brits are now getting more for their Pounds in Scandinavian destinations compared to this time last year, meaning the upcoming May bank holiday could be the perfect opportunity to visit this part of Europe.
The Pound is up 18% year on year against the Norwegian and Swedish currencies and up 15% against Danish Krone. This means on every £500 exchanged Brits will now receive an extra 888 NOK (£77), 981 SEK (£78) and 670 DKK (£66).
David Swann of Travelex comments: “Oslo, Copenhagen and Stockholm are highly desirable destinations for a city break but are often dismissed as too expensive. Now with the Pound considerably stronger than it was last year, Brits will find their Pounds stretch further in these destinations.”
Similarly Brits will find good value in a break to Prague with the Pound up 15% against Czech Koruna, allowing Brits to purchase an extra 2,328 CZK (£65) on every £500 exchanged.
